Chris Fowler was just taking a stroll on a sunny Friday morning when he decide to pop into the local store near his house and purchase a Lottery ticket. A couple days later he went into an Esso gas station and while he was there, decided to check the Lottery results. To Chris’ astonishment, he had unwittingly won $21.8 million.

“First, when I looked at it, there were just so many digits I didn’t know what it was,” said Fowler, who handed the ticket to a store clerk. That’s when it became clear that he had won $21.8 million. “I didn’t believe it. I still don’t,” he said.

After realizing the extent of his winnings, Chris rushed to his son Jason’s house to report the exciting news. Jason said that his dad looked like he’d seen a ghost as he was pale with shock. “He came up from the basement and he said I was white as a ghost and could hardly talk. He thought something bad had happened.”

Chris plans on retiring early and doing a bit of traveling. The first place he intends on traveling to is Las Vegas.
