Online casinos are about to hit a whole new wave of popularity as a movie about online gambling is set to be in production soon. Big celebrity names like Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake are already committed to the project, which is called “Runner, Runner”.

Leonardo DiCaprio is producing the project with The Lincoln Lawyer director Brad Furman.
While there have certainly been gambling-related movies done before: Rounders, Casino and 21 just to name a few, this is the first time online casinos have been put into the spotlight. With the acclaimed Affleck and popular Timberlake as the lead actors, Runner, Runner will likely make online gambling more appealing and acceptable to a younger audience.
In fact, Affleck is not quite a gambling novice in real life either. He has been in the winner’s circle of the California State Poker Championship, where he won $356,000. Timberlake hasn’t got any gambling credits under his sleeve, but from the musical risks he’s taken over the past few years, we’re sure he’ll do just fine acting as a reckless young gambler.
